Jean Louis Vergnon's Champagne Nature Premier Cru Blanc de Blancs "Murmure" is a pure Chardonnay made only from grapes from the prized vines grown in the communal territory of the Premier Cru of Vertus and Villeneuve. It is a label of particular finesse and elegance, expressing Chardonnay's best qualities of freshness and fragrance. The 24 months of aging on the lees, preserve intact the aromas of white flowers, citrus and fruity notes, which give the sip a pleasant delicacy of taste, supported by a vibrant mineral tension. It is a perfect Champagne to enjoy as an aperitif or with seafood appetizers.
The "Murmure" Champagne strikes for its great expressive purity, representing the style of this small artisanal reality. Jean Louis Vergnon's Maison is located in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs and has been cultivating vines for no less than five generations. The domaine has a total area of about five hectares, which are mainly located in the communal territory of the Grand Cru of Mesnil-sur-Oger Oger as well as in Avize, Vertus et Villeneuve. The chalk-rich soils give the Chardonnay a profile of great finesse with refined floral and fruity notes and pronounced mineral connotations, which are the true hallmark of the terroir. In the countryside, no chemical weeding is used, encouraging spontaneous growth of vegetation in the inter-rows to foster biodiversity. In the winery, work is done to keep the characteristics of the grapes unaltered, with delicate vinification, careful aging and low dosages, so la always leave the mineral character of the Côte des Blancs terroir in the foreground.
Blanc de Blancs "Murmure" is a Premier Cru Nature Champagne produced by Jean Louis Vergnon, with the intention of enhancing the best qualities of elegance of the Chardonnay of the Côte des Blancs. The vines are grown on soils characterized by the presence of chalk in the prized Premier Crus areas of Vertus and Villeneuve. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks. The base wines rest a few months and are then blended into the final cuvée. Refermentation takes place in the bottle according to the oldest rules of the Champenois Method, with a period sur lattes of 24 months. In the glass, it is light yellow in color, crossed by a fine and continuous perlage. The bouquet recalls aromas of orange blossom, white flowers, citrus notes, lime zest, white-fleshed fruit and menthol nuances. The sip is delicate and fragrant, with a pleasantly fruity center of the mouth and a saline finish, characterized by citrus freshness.
