Brunello di Montalcino 'Luce' Luce della Vite - Frescobaldi 2017

Frescobaldi's Brunello di Montalcino "Luce" Luce della Vite is an elegant, intense and complex red, representing one of the most prestigious labels of the famous Tuscan house. Brunello di Montalcino, appreciated all over the world for its consistently excellent quality, is one of the most important reds in our wine heritage. It is made from Sangiovese grosso and matures for 24 months in wood, before finishing the long aging period in the bottle.

The "Luce" Brunello di Montalcino of the historic Frescobaldi brand is produced in the vineyards of the Luce della Vite estate. An estate of 88 hectares of vineyards, 11 of which are dedicated to the production of Brunello. The vineyards are located southwest of the ancient village of Montalcino, at an altitude between 200 and 430 meters above sea level, in an area still characterized by unspoiled nature and great environmental biodiversity. The name "Luce" is inspired precisely by the characteristics of the land, sunny and facing the side of the Tuscan coast, the most Mediterranean and mildest side of Montalcino, caressed by the breezes that come up from the Tyrrhenian Sea. The composition of the soils varies greatly according to altitude, with an alternation of clays in the lower parts, yellow sands and sandstones in the middle range and sands and shales higher up. After harvesting, the grapes are sent to fermentation in steel vats for 12 days, with a 4-week maceration on the skins. The wine matures in barriques, 10% new and the rest of second-passage, and in Slavonian oak barrels for a period of 24 months, after finishing the aging period in the bottle.

The Frescobaldi "Luce" is a Brunello di Montalcino with a sunny profile, aromatically rich and ripe, son of a territory characterized by a continental climate, with Mediterranean influences. In the glass it shows an impenetrable garnet red color. The nose expresses a fine and elegant bouquet, with floral scents, aromas of cherry, red berry fruits, blond tobacco, chocolate, spices and medicinal herbs. The palate has good structure, with complex and deep aromas, a lively and dense tannic texture and a very persistent finish on refreshing notes.
