The Barbaresco "Gallina" by Castle of Neive is a wine that surprised us at Vinitaly for outstanding quality/price ratio. The Barbaresco "Gallina" borns in the vineyard "Gallina", where the Castle of Neive produced Nebbiolo grapes for the production of Barbaresco; the location on the hill of Neive provides a unique microclimate: in summer the maximum temperature does not exceed 23-24°C and the minimum, in winter, it keeps on 6-8°C. The approach uses the Castle of Neive manages to perfectly blend the science and technology with history, tradition and experience wine of the territory in which it is inserted. The Barbaresco "Gallina" by Castle of Neive comes to life in the vineyard Gallina; the harvest is manual and is made with small boxes at the beginning of October; here one of the most important red wines of Piedmont begins its fermentation for 10-12 days and then be left to evolve for at least 12 months in French oak barrels. The Barbaresco "Gallina" is a wine for aging medium since it is able to give new facets for 5-10 years; we are facing with a Barbaresco with its typical color, red garnet, which occurs in the nose with delicate notes of dried flowers and wood that provides elegance, finesse, intense and harmony.
