Casella

Casella

The history of Casella winery began in 1960, when Francesco Casella, father of the current owner Lino, arrived in Friuli to dedicate his life to wine production. Francesco was a master for Lino: bequeathed to his son his skills, his experience and, above all, his passion for vineyards and wine. It was precisely these teachings and love for his land to push Lino to detect, in January 2006, one of the historical reality of the area of Albana di Prepotto, founded in the second half of the nineteenth century by the family Rieppi. Lino, after gaining some experience in some agronomic and oenological company in Friuli, felt absolutely ready to start his own adventure, driven by a philosophy of production entirely respectful of the land and of traditions. Today Casella can count on an area of 5.5 hectares of land, 3.5 of which are vineyards and where the vines average 40 years in age. Love for the land, respect for the traditions handed down from the father and the most sustainable viticulture, have done an absolutely winery to discover.
